Here’s what Martin Fry has to say about Wilson’s work on this album: “…Part-alchemy and part-archaeology. The band was augmented by session musicians, and the 11-piece ensemble toured Europe, the US and Japan.

Concept sur l'amour comprenant un ensemble de tubes incontournables: Poison Arrow, Tears are not enough et The look of love. The Lexicon of Love sounds fantastic, thanks to the impeccable credentials of the ‘backroom’ team; it was produced by Trevor Horn, engineered by Gary Langan, with keyboards and orchestration by Anne Dudley. My remix of ABC’s classic 1982 album The Lexicon of Love was released on 4th August 2023 for its (somewhat belated) 40th anniversary.Dudley reprised her role as conductor, performing with the Southbank Sinfonia Orchestra, and they concluded a four-date mini-tour at the same venue on 30 March 2014. I had been looking for this on vinyl for a while and was delighted to find an original 1982 pressing of this classic album! Such larger-than-life arrangements may seem over-the-top to some listeners, but as the soundtrack to a lexicon of love--how else would you expect it to sound?

Brilliant service throughout from this seller, my item arrived earlier than expected and in brilliant condition. Produced by Horn and engineered by Gary Langan, it features orchestrations by Dudley and programming of the recently-developed Fairlight CMI by J. The Lexicon of Love was again performed live in its entirety on 18 December 2012 at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane to mark its 30th anniversary. Some of the founding members of the later record label ZTT Records and the band The Art of Noise collaborate in the production of the album.

Album d'ABC avec la fraicheur des premiers morceaux d'un groupe et surtout la perfection et finesse du producteur de ce début de décennie : Trevor Horn. Songs were written collectively by the band, with arranger Anne Dudley also given a credit on some tracks. A year after its release, Horn, Langan, Dudley and Jeczalik formed the Art of Noise, and most of the production team and session musicians on the album formed the basis for the ZTT label.ABC were joined by the original orchestral team of Southbank Sinfonia and longtime collaborator and arranger Anne Dudley who conducted the evening. Distribution in the US and Japan was handled by Mercury Records; Vertigo Records released it in Canada and Europe. I talked them into getting a better bass player, which maybe wasn't a kind thing to do,” he said, "[but] Brad Lang was quite brilliant".

Trevor Horn's masterly production skills are very much to the fore on this wonderful constructed pop album of the early 1980s. All four Steven Wilson mixes are previously unreleased and an instrumental version of the album is entirely unheard (and fascinating! The other physical formats for this 40th anniversary celebration are a half-speed mastered vinyl edition (mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road) and the aforementioned 4LP + blu-ray vinyl box set which includes the half-speed master and three other vinyl records which feature demos, remixes and The Lexicon of Love performed Live at Hammersmith in 1982 (previously issued on CD).surround mix of the album (individual and continuous mix) by Steven Wilson plus notes from Martin Fry himself, and essay by Record Collector’s Daryl Easlea, this is a suitably sumptuous celebration of one of the most perfect pop albums ever. Including] songs as perfect as 'The Look Of Love' – replete with knowingly absurd talkover – or the jaw-dropping 'All of My Heart,' still one of the '80s most underrated singles.
