The man is character actor Walter Pigeon (you’re going to want to leave the IMDB app open on your phone while reading – you know more of these actors and actresses than you think), and what he wants is to give ol’ Scotty a hummer. E. was not wound enough, here is news that the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, on miserable occasions, when driven to depths of boredom, actually had sex with each other instead of with members of their own sex. After reading what he witnessed on that beach, I would understand living a life without a shred of shame (especially about sex, which people should not feel ashamed about, anyway). Bowers presents himself as a sort of unpaid pimp, and it is perplexing why he bothered to do all that work for nothing. It is a wonderfully vivid account of the golden years of Hollywood but from the perspective of Scotty, a just discharged USMC, who found himself employing his good looks, and those of his ex Marine Core buddies, and surprisingly their girlfriends, to meet the needs of the Hollywood elite; either male or female.

He says his first "trick" came in 1946, with actor Walter Pidgeon and milliner-to-the stars Jacques Potts, and other bold-faced names Bowers mentions along the way include composer Cole Porter, director George Cukor, Cary Grant and Randolph Scott, Katharine Hepburn and Vivien Leigh. The post-War years used to be very decadent, but no one talked about it and so most thought everything was very innocent. He shows no regrets and rationalizes that his life was dedicated to bringing ‘joy’ to a multitude of people. Cary Grant, Rock Hudson, George Cukor, Katharine Hepburn and Vivien Leigh are among those named by Bowers, now 88. Most stories feel like they were directly dictated since they end in rhetorical questions more often than in typical literature. Scotty Bowers is the most honest person I've known, with the best memory for names and places I've ever seen. According to Bowers it wasn't abuse in the slightest; it was affection, it was natural, it was sex ed, and it led him to have a wonderfully high libido for the rest of his days.

There are almost too many same-sexcapades to list, but Scotty "tricked" with or arranged tricks for Cary Grant, Randolph Scott, George Cukor, Spencer Tracy, and the former King of England, just to name a few. The strangest aspect here was the vitriol Bowers exhibited towards those few celebrities who somehow managed to not sleep with him. But then again the well oiled publicity machines that operated to maintain a stars light shinning in the eyes of the American public would never have allowed their cash machine actors and actresses from being exposed, unless they were really stupid or stubbornly hedonistic, or both?I would have bet that this book would have been filled with rehashed information and the names of celebrities disguised, but you will be surprised to know that the author nam

You can only make acusations like these when no one can refute your arguments becouse they are dead. And taking a page from his own playbook, I guess I can say anything I want about Bowers now that he's dead.

Scotty’s family was poor like 98% of all other families were and both parents had to work long hours. An important content note: There is shit in this book (not just figuratively; be prepared to have the aforementioned Laughton and Power ruined for you forever) that is not fun or frisky at all.

A] lurid, no-detail-too-excruciating account of a sexual Zelig who (if you believe him) trawled an X-rated underworld for over three decades without getting caught. Now the subject of the hit documentary Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood, praised by Vanity Fair as "full of revelations" and Entertainment Weekly as "deliciously salacious," Full Service is the remarkable true story of Scotty Bowers, the "gentleman hustler," during the heyday of classic Hollywood. That may not be the kind of style everyone can read in one sitting because it could infuriate those looking for a through-line plot, but it's quite enjoyable. I suppose it's possible, but even if it were I find it strange he never accepted money for hooking stars up with their little dalliances.Bowers fought in the Pacific, including at the Battle of Iwo Jima, as a paramarine in the Marine Corps during World War II. You'll get the gist, although you may wonder as I did why a guy with such a high profile isn't remotely wealthy in his 90s, and seems to be a run-of-the-mill hoarder yet doesn't have dozens of photo albums featuring himself and his many celebrity conquests. People who tend to believe propaganda, such as those manufactured Tracy/Hepburn romance stories, may be surprised.
