Kikitchi appears in Music City as a drummer. He can also be seen on the Celebrity Cruise ship in Tama & Earth EXPO. The Baby Stage is the second stage of the Tamagotchi life cycle. After the egg hatches, a baby will be born from it. The baby starts off with both the Hungry and Happy meters depleted, therefore requiring immediate care. On versions that include the naming feature, the baby must be named before the user can begin caring for it. On the Tamagotchi Connection Version 4, Version 4.5, Tamagotchi Music Star, Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi Plus, and Ura Jinsei Enjoy Tamagotchi Plus, this is the stage where the Tamagotchi can receive mail and start school. One of the smallest Tamagotchi characters, Petipuchi is part of the petite family and has a boy or girl form. He is very energetic and always bouncing around. She also uses her helmet to hide her true looks. Like Gozarutchi, she is usually obtained with the worst possible care. Samuraitchi is sincere and always keeps his promises. He loves Japanese comedy TV shows and films, especially sumo wrestling. You get him on the V4 by getting the Gorgeous points to a high level. Kikitchi resembles a baboon. His body is yellow, and his face is cream-colored. He has round ears, oval-shaped eyes, pink cheeks, and a cat-like mouth. He also has a pink heart shape on his rear like a baboon does. He wears a red scarf.

Many 6-year-olds will find it challenging to keep up with all the responsibility, as you have to ensure your Tama is fed, happy, entertained and generally cared for. He looks for the source and runs into Mametchi and friends who are also looking for the source of unhappiness Hapihapitchi sensed. The source is revealed to be from a book titled World's Happiest Story and everyone jumps in to investigate. They discover that the story loops instead of ending and run into Happy, the story's protagonist. Happy rejects their help in finding the ending and Kikitchi notices how unhappy he is and relates to him. When everyone leaves the story, Kikitchi secretly takes the storybook home with him. For a My Tama, this stage will look identical to a standard child stage character of the Tamagotchi being run, but with a different body color and one of the parents' headgear genetics. The Cocoon Stage debuted on the Tamagotchi Mothra, and is otherwise exclusive to releases and games where Mushitchi are raised such as the second Game Boy game, the Morino, and Tamagotchi Town. Outside of the Morino, it appears between the teenager and adult stages.

In vintage Japanese media, this stage was referred to as the Kodomotchi ( こどもっち) stage. In some media, it is referred to as the "Adolescence" stage. For a My Tama, this stage will look identical to a standard teen stage character of the Tamagotchi being run, but with a different body color, one of the headgear genetics, and one of the accessory genetics. The TamaOtch features five growth stages that function similarly to the standard growth stages. These are Audition (baby), Debut (child), Active (teenager), Maturity (adult), and Mature (special). Certain characters can appear in multiple stages; for example, Kakuretchi can be in either the Active or Maturity stage depending on what character it was previously and how it was cared for. The lifespan of a Tamagotchi depends on how well you take care of it and which Tamagotchi you get, with some randomness thrown in.
